I proclaim today is Storybook Character Tuesday!
Simple Activity For You to Do Right Now: pick a favorite character, take One Minute to make up a simple song with his name in it. Don’t over think this. It’s meant to be simple and silly. Be sure to sing it out loud to the glee of those around you!
Benefit of this exercise: Developing neural plasticity by trying something new!
My favorite character (or one of them!) is The Cat in the Hat. He arrives when boredom is at its peak, creates fun, messes and mayhem, then puts everything to-right again!
My One Minute made up song to the tune of Itsy Bitsy Spider with a forced rhythm to make all the words fit:
O, The Cat in the Hat is something else, shows up when you are bored. Down come the dishes and the vases, what a mess! Then he cleans it all up sparkly and everything-is-back-to-the-way-it-was.
Who is your favorite storybook character?
Another character fave for me is Carl Fredericksen (and Karl) from the Disney movie Up.
