Words are power.
What words do you use to describe yourself?
Are you using powerful words in your definition? Do they bouy or bury you? Perhaps the words are so powerful you undermine yourself with them. We must proceed with care, the use of these words on ourselves, lest we become the very things they represent.
How absolutely exciting and terrifying is that?
Give me an ADJECTIVE please!
Yes, I do create a mantra of sorts with adjectives I prefer or want to become.
I am full of loving kindness, I am full of compassion.
No they are not always so lofty. Sometimes, as simple as: I am fun, I am awake.
Specifically, I enjoy these adjectives for myself: effervescent, reflective, saucy, vibrant, dynamic. Though I do challenge myself to try to use words that are not so trendy…maybe spirited, bright, or lively could be replacements.
In addition, it’s more of a challenge finding words that can reflect more of the darker side of my nature: truculent, acrimonious, tacky. I’m sure family and close friends have a few more to add.
Here is a useful list of 1,100 adjectives I found. Not comprehensive, but definitely helpful.
Which would you choose?
